Il lavoro riguarda in particolare: - La storia della Nativité - L'analisi del linguaggio musicale - La relazione tra il linguaggio musicale ed il pensiero teologico di Messiaen La tesi approfondisce anche la relazione tra Messiaen e l'artista sinestetico Charles Blanc-Gatti, che dipinse nove pastelli su “ La Nativitè”. La “Nativité” viene esaminata, sotto l'aspetto teologico, come musica sacra o liturgica: il ciclo dell'organo è messo in relazione con le fonti della Bibbia e con gli scritti di Columba Marmion. Viene analizzata anche una teologia dell'organo. Dario Paolini: "THE RAINBOW'S SOUNDS" A study about "THE NATIVITY OF THE LORD" of Olivier Messiaen The Doctoral dissertation “The Rainbow’s sounds” is a study about La Nativité du Seigneur for organ by Olivier Messiaen. The work inquires especially: - History of La Nativité - Analysis of the musical language - Relation between the musical language and Messiaen’s theological mind The dissertation inquires also in depth the relationship between Messiaen and the synaesthetic painter Charles Blanc-Gatti, who painted nine pastels about La Nativité. The theological aspect discusses the consideration of La Nativité like sacred or liturgical music: the organ cycle is put in relation with the Bible’s sources and the Columba Marmion books references. A theology of the organ is also remarked.
